01 · The Challenge
What Problem Did This Project Solve?
Video training for a mobile-first audience on unreliable connections.
- The audience is mobile-first and often on metered or intermittent data, so unbuffered video playback is not acceptable.
- Course content has to be gated — only signed-in members with the right standing should reach it.
- Lesson progress needs to survive the app being closed mid-video and reopened later.
- It shares identity with the commerce apps, so authentication had to integrate rather than fork.
- Course material changes over time and must be updatable without an app release.

What Solution Was Delivered?
A focused video-course client with server-driven content and shared ecosystem identity.
- Course and lesson structure driven entirely from the backend so content can be added or reordered without shipping a new build.
- Gated access tied to the same member identity used by the commerce apps — one sign-in across the ecosystem.
- Lesson progress persisted so members resume exactly where they left off.
- Playback tuned for metered mobile data rather than assuming Wi-Fi.
- Deliberately narrow scope — a training client that does one job well rather than a second commerce surface.
