01 · The Challenge
What Problem Did This Project Solve?
Putting sensitive, live financial reporting on a phone without weakening its controls.
- The app exposes the most sensitive data the business holds — revenue, margin, commission liabilities — so access control could not be an afterthought.
- Executives need answers at a glance, but the underlying figures come from commerce, inventory, commission and payroll systems that each aggregate differently.
- Numbers had to reconcile exactly with the web platform; a dashboard that disagrees with the books is worse than no dashboard.
- Reporting had to be exportable in formats usable in a real board meeting, not just viewable on screen.
- The platform serves 15+ distinct user role types, so what a given user may see varies considerably.

What Solution Was Delivered?
A read-oriented executive client over server-computed figures, gated by role.
- All aggregation computed on the platform, so the app and the web reporting can never diverge.
- Role-based access control determining which dashboards, figures and reports each user can reach.
- Live dashboards for profit and loss, revenue and KPIs, refreshed as the platform updates them.
- Exportable daily, weekly and monthly reports on revenue, expenses and net profit.
- Push notifications for threshold breaches and critical system events, so leadership finds out early.
